WharfeBank Brewery is an award-winning producer of hand-crafted ales in the heart of Yorkshire. It was founded in 2010 by Martin Kellaway, a former national sales director with Caledonian who decided to take advantage of a sliding scale duty relief for small breweries, which effectively halved the amount of duty paid on beer for those producing less than 3,125 brewer’s barrels a year.
The organisers of one of Yorkshire’s biggest food and drink festivals have got a lot on their plate this year. Not only is it their 13th anniversary (unlucky for some) but they’ve also set themselves the challenge of beating last year’s total of 150,000 visitors (up a staggering 50,000 on 2011).
He’s been warned but Tony Greenway can’t resist more than a chunk of cheese, and who can blame him.
