Chef Matthew Wilkinson and his team at Rudding Park will be treeating guests to a celebration of dining at the 2017 Yorkshire Life Food and Drink Awards on Monday 25th September. The carefully prepared menu is full of award-winning local produce that will be a celebration of the Yorkshire food industry.

The menu is as follows:

Fizz and gin cocktail reception and canapés in the drawing room.

Carpene Malvolti Prosecco DOCG (Italy) - Elegant aromas of ripe pear, crisp apple and citrus, layered with subtle herbaceous notes. Smooth on the palate with crisp, refreshing aromatics and an elegant finish

Award-winning Slingsby Gin is made with only the finest natural and locally sourced botanicals, Harrogate aquifer water and pure single grain spirit. The key botanicals are locally grown plants that are synonymous with the beautiful and restorative nature of Harrogate. Try our rhubarb gin served with an elderflower.

Pickled and Roasted Beetroot (v) - baby vegetables, horseradish, beetroot crisps, garden flowers

Served with ‘Albente’ Falanghina, Feudi di San Gregorio, Campania (Italy) supplied by Hallgarten Druitt. Steely lime and lemon flavours through to a lively and mouth-watering finish. Fresh and intense on the nose showcasing aromas of stoned fruit and white flowers.

Served with Mencia, Finca OS Cobatos, Monerrei (Spain) supplied by Hallgarten Druitt. Round and smooth with the highly aromatic notes of black fruits and freshness of the Mencia grape, balanced perfectly by savoury vanilla oak.

Yorkshire Wensleydale - Creamy, crumbly and full of flavour. Protected with European Protected Food Name status (PGI); the only wensleydale cheese made in Wensleydale.

Kit Calvert Old-Style Wensleydale - A lovingly handcrafted buttery, creamy textured cheese, with a natural rind. A cheese celebrating the father of Wensleydale cheese ‘Kit Calvert’, who helped to save the Wensleydale Creamery from closure in 1935.

Wensleydale Blue - A delicately flavoured creamy blue cheese with a mellow, yet full flavour, which will appeal to newcomers to blue cheese & connoisseurs alike.

Yorkshire Wensleydale & Cranberries - Creamy, crumbly and full of flavour Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese, carefully combined with the delicate fruity succulence of pure, sweet cranberries. An original creation from The Wensleydale Creamery.

Oak Smoked Yorkshire Wensleydale - Naturally smoked using oak chips, producing a cheese with a subtle, smoked flavour, and which retains the crumbly characteristics of Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese.
