The Bay Horse nestled in a small and picturesque little village at the foot of the Wolds, a few miles south of Malton can best be described as a traditional Yorkshire local pub with open fires, serving real ale and delicious home cooked lunches. Managed by Franco, all food is cooked fresh to order using local, seasonal ingredients when available and menus change regularly. With a range of Yorkshire and Italian dishes such as Steak & Ale Pie, Farmer’s Feast, Agenllo Cacciatore and Insalata Del Giorno, there is something to suit all taste buds. The pub also offers a children’s menu.
Recently awarded the CAMRA Town & country Pub or the Season, it has a number of real and guest ales on offer as well as selection of ales from their own award winning ‘All Hallows’ brewery situated at the Goodmandham Arms – all at £2.50 a pint!
The pub is open from 11.30am everyday and lunch is served 12pm-2pm with advance bookings being taken for Sundays only. Dogs are welcome and there is a large car park to the rear of the pub. The Goodmanham Arms is a CAMRA award winning pub and has also held the Authentic Pub Award. The red brick building built in the 1800’s is a cosy and traditional Yorkshire pub on the Wolds Way footpath in East Yorkshire. With huge open fires, it has bundles of character and is decked with antiques and even vintage motor cycles!
The mouth-watering home-cooked food menu includes old favourites and a changing feast of specials including beef and dumplings, pheasant, beef in ale, wild boar and venison in a Victorian cast iron gypsy pot over the open fire! Spit roasts also feature on Sundays during the winter. Monday night is steak and pie night, £8.95 including a drink 5pm-7pm. You can enjoy tasty home cooked food and wash it down with finest real ales - all at sensible prices. On offer are a selection of seven cask ales - including
Theakston’s Old Peculiar, Hambleton Stallion and Black Dog Whitby Abbey. The pub has three rotating guest beers each week and a selection of four ciders. All beers are £2.50 per pint! Located just across the courtyard from the Goodmanham Arms is the All Hallows Brewery (former Goodmanham Brewery) producing its popular Peg Fyfe dark mild, named after a local 17th century witch!
Every 1st Thursday of the month is Folk night, 3rd Thursday of each month is Jazz, Blues & Country night and quiz night is every other Wednesday.
The Goodmanham Arms is open daily 11am to midnight (11pm Sundays) and food is served 12pm-2pm every day and 5pm-7pm Mondays
