This stunning hotel sits at the heart of the town’s picturesque market square, and has been a popular place of escape since the 15th Century. The hotel receives visitors from all over the UK and further afield, thanks to its abundance of charm and architectural elements from across the centuries. Yet The Black Swan Hotel also houses a hidden gem of a restaurant, The Gallery, open to overnight guests and visitors alike. The acclaimed 3 AA rosette restaurant offers several individual dinner menus; these change regularly to utilise the best seasonal produce and ingredients that, wherever possible, are sourced from within 30 miles of the hotel.

The hotel is also home to an award winning tearoom. When it comes to national traditions, there are few that seem more quintessentially English than afternoon tea. The tearoom was opened by world-renowned chef Marco Pierre White in December 2007 and, less than a year after opening, was rewarded for its exceptionally high standards and chosen to become a member of the illustrious Tea Guild. The tearoom was recently commended again by The Tea Guild when it was named a ‘Tearoom of Excellence’ for 2013, and awarded the title of ‘Top Tea Place 2010’. The tearoom serves a mind-boggling array of teas from around the world, including herbal infusions, green teas and the Black Swan blend.
