The shortlist is announced in the search for the finest talent in Yorkshire's food and drink industry
We have never under estimated the difficulty in choosing the winners of the Yorkshire Life Food & Drink Awards nor the difference it can make to those who are shortlisted as well as those who take home a prize.
A winners plaque on the wall of a restaurant is a mark of excellence that will attract customers or the mention as part of a local food producer business promotion can only be an encouraging recommendation.
Our team of judges led by our food and drink consultant, Annie Stirk, spent the last few months visiting and many hours in often lively debate before drawing up a shortlist that reflects the enormous flair and potential among the people who work so hard to make Yorkshire an exciting destination for fine food and excellent hospitality.
After several months of lively discussion and visits to a diverse collection of culinary gems, the judging panel and I always end up with a long and difficult meeting trying to whittle down an extensive list to create our shortlist, said Annie.
The shortlist meeting is always a lively affair, and this year it was more difficult than ever to select our shortlistees. We have some of the finest hospitality businesses in the country here in Yorkshire and the shortlist is made up of everything from five-star dining to wonderful classic pubs.
Our experienced panel of judges have done a sterling job and they are all committed to helping position the Yorkshire Life Food & Drink Awards as central to Yorkshires burgeoning hospitality industry.
The winners will be announced at the Yorkshire Life Food & Drink Awards lunch hosted by the White Hart Hotel, Harrogate sponsorson Monday, September 17th.
Our special guest is the dashing Yorkshire plasterer who swapped the building site to become a MasterChef finalist, Tom Rennolds.
