Brodsworth Hall and its grounds will stage the return of its celebrated Enchanted Garden.
Brodsworth Hall and its grounds will this month stage the return of its celebrated Enchanted Garden. For 10 nights visitors are invited to follow a path around the gardens of the restored Victorian mansion house revealing multi-coloured floodlit scenes with a surprise around every corner.
Daytime visitors to the gardens at Brodsworth Hall will be familiar with the winding paths that take you through and around different parts of the restored gardens, and indeed, the whole garden concept was designed so that the first-time visitor had a landscaping surprise around each corner from the fern dell to the rose arbours, said event manager, Jon Hogan.
Staging this event in the evening, with beautifully coloured lights and soft classical music playing in the background, really amplifies the experience, with stunning scenes that take your breath away, he added
The event at the English Heritage property is staged in association with York-based Camel Event Production, who co-ordinated the illumination for the Enchanted Gardens first three-year run, from 2007 to 2009. This is such a pleasure.
The gardens truly lend themselves to this kind of event, with the hard and soft landscaping providing excellent canvases for the light effects, said Kevin Wilson, owner of Camel Event Production. Were delighted to be working in partnership with English Heritage to deliver this autumn spectacular, which really is one of the must-see events of the autumn in South Yorkshire.
The Enchanted Garden is staged from Friday October 26th to Sunday November 4th. It begins at 6.30pm each evening and runs until 9.00pm (last admissions at 8.30pm). Advance tickets are 9 for adults, 7.50 for concessions and 7 for children, or 10, 9 and 8.50 on the door. Tickets are available from English Heritages customer service team on 0870 333 1183 or from Brodsworth Hall.
