Spring of 2008 and David, saw the opportunity to fulfil a long-held ambition, to have his own place; so he bit the bullet and left the high-powered, celebrity packed world of the Radisson behind him, and concentrated his efforts on what is now the Jam Deli & Cafe Bar on Stamford New Road in Altrincham.

Here, he has filled a niche in the market, providing a one-stop source where you can enjoy the aroma of fresh cooking, and buy sandwiches and salads from the upstairs dele, or take them downstairs to the 30-seater restaurant to eat in comfort. But don’t be fooled into thinking that this is another cafe or sandwich bar……. The atmosphere is congenial, the staff experienced, friendly and helpful and the range of products is likely to satisfy most tastes, where not only freshly cooked roast joints mix with the smoked meats generally expected to be seen in a top deli.

Couple these with a range of cheeses, quiches, olives, roast peppers, cakes and desserts, and your taste buds should be well and truly satisfied. You can even pour and buy your own first press olive oil, with a refillable bottle provided. For his coffee to go with the cafe meals (or takeaway), he has sourced a delightful bean which has met with nothing but praise from all those who taste it. Everything you eat in or take away can be bought, and before long, a delivery service will be available for all deli products.

The shop has recognised the possible needs of their busy customers by setting up an internet hotspot, where, if you prefer to bring your work out with you, it is possible to use your laptop in the comfort and uninterrupted atmosphere of the downstairs cafe.

It is already possible to arrange for business lunches to be delivered for that impromptu or formal meeting at your office. David’s idea is to give you three levels of content, aptly named Strawberry, Raspberry and Blackcurrant Jam lunches.

Add to this David’s outside catering service, where he (and other chefs if the size of the occasion merits it) will come to your home or business premises and cook a bespoke meal just for you. Whether this is a cosy special dinner for two, a bigger dinner party, a barbecue or larger family occasion, David has both the skills and resources available to satisfy your needs. The menu will be entirely of your choosing; David will discuss your requirements, offering you the benefit of his experience, and nothing will be too much trouble.
