What they say about advertising in Yorkshire Life
‘It does the homework for you. Another layer of information’
These are just a few of the comments made by readers during independent reader research carried out in the autumn 2006.
Research tells us that readers fall into higher income brackets and fit the following Mosaic Lifestyle groups:
Symbols of Success - people are well set in their careers and their incomes have risen far into upper Income Tax ranges.
Suburban Comfort - people have established themselves and their families in comfortable homes in mature suburbs. Children are becoming independent; work is less of a challenge.
Grey Perspectives - people are retired but still independent, with time on their hands and in reasonably good health. They own and run their own homes and are financially independent.
Rural Isolation - people live deep in the countryside in small communities. Despite the mix of incomes, most people own their homes and there is substantial hidden wealth. Yorkshire Life has a very high profile in the county and is widely available.
About the county
Yorkshire is the largest historic county in the country and has, within its boundaries, a wide variety of life and landscape. It has a population of almost five million (2001 census) over an area of 15,400sq km (6,000 sq miles). It has a long coastline with popular seaside resorts and fishing villages; many acres of rolling moorland protected by the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Dales National Park; it’s the home of international race courses and often visited historic houses.
The county’s cities, towns and villages are steeped in history but also embrace the 21st century attracting investment and development as centres of tourism, technology, finance and legal services.
The county is divided into three clearly defined areas, the North, West and East ridings and South Yorkshire but held together by a very strong feeling of belonging to Yorkshire, God’s Own County.
