A guide to some of the spectacular community bonfire and firework displays taking place around Yorkshire this month

28th October

Musical Firework Spectacular 

Sledmere's firework event returns for a third year with a ‘Out of this World’ themed bonfire evening. There will be a children’s funfair, food stalls, a licence bar and bonfire. The entrance is at Castlegate situated on the easterly side of Sledmere village (YO25 3XR) where you will be directed straight into the free car park.  Gates open and bonfire lit at 5:30pm and the fireworks display and ‘after party’ will start at 8pm.

3rd November

Leeds Bonfires and Fireworks Extravaganza

Join 70,000 others to enjoy the biggest bonfire in Leeds. The huge bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm and the awesome firework display will start at 8pm. Organisers ask revellers leave their own fireworks, including sparklers, at home to ensure the event remains safe and just enjoy the display provided for everyone.

4th November

Fireworks and Bonfire at Thornton Hall Farm Country Park

Thornton Hall Farm will be hosting a fireworks display with over 5000 fireworks, a huge bonfire, live music and much more. Gates open at 6pm with the fireworks commencing at 7.30pm, please note there will be no entry after this time.

4th November

Fabulous Fireworks at Lightwater Valley Theme Park

If you're at Lightwater Valley Theme Park on November 4th you will be treated to some additional fireworksas part of your admission fee. 15 minute firework show is choreographed to music and set over the Swan Lake

4th November

Bonfire Night in Goole

Bonfire Night in Goole is a community event, with children, young people, adults and schools working on the project.

Gates open at 5.30pm and the event includes a lantern procession, bonfire, fireworks display, funfair and food stalls 

Price:  £3 per person or £10 for a family ticket of 2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children

5th November

Bonfire Night at Bolton Abbey

The annual bonfire and firework display by the banks of the River Wharfe in the shadows of the Priory Ruins returns to Bolton Abbey.

Gates open at 5:00pm; Fire lit at 6:00pm; Fireworks at 6:45pm

Price: Adults £10, Children (4-16) £7.50  (children aged 3 and under are free of charge and do not require a ticket)

York Maze Fireworks Spectacular

Food stalls, live music, sideshows and of course a fireworks display choreographed to music hits plus an enormous bonfire which promises to give the effigy of one of York’s most infamous historic residents Guy Fawkes a ‘good roasting’. Gates open 4.30pm and close at 10.30pm.

Leyburn Bonfire Night

A spectacular community event which is bound to light up the sky over Leyburn Shawl, North Yorkshire. It is held on Leyburn Shawl play area which offers a large venue to enjoy Bonfire Night in safety. Enjoy an event with great community spirit in safety, with refreshments on hand to help keep your warm. It’s considered one of the best family events of the winter months.

5th November 

Elland Round Table Charity Bonfire and Firework Display

This is Calderdale’s largest public bonfire and firework display which includes a children’s firework display as well as a main bonfire and firework show plus a performance by the Hellfyre Magpies – a dance display team. There are also food stalls, game stalls, fairground rides and music. Gates open 5.30pm.

Price: Adults £5 Children £2.50

5th November

Cannon Hall Farm Bonfire Spectacular 

Cannon Hall Farm is once again hosting their spectacular bonfire day event that finishes with a bonfire lit at 5pm and a fireworks display at 6.30pm. This year there will even be a DJ and some special children’s entertainment, Tickets cover farm admission, indoor and outdoor play, tractor and trailer rides and free rides on the mini fairground.

Price: £9.95pp, Under 2s Free.
