Scotts of Helmsley

Scotts of Helmsley is a traditional and family friendly fish and chip shop, based just off the market square, in the historic town of Helmsley.

The town lies on the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park and you will be pleasantly surprised visiting Helmsley, as it has plenty to offer. You won’t be able to leave without taking a souvenir or a taste of the quality fish and chips, as a reminder of the charming town. At Scotts of Helmsley, we aim to provide the best fish and chips from sustainable and local sources at a value price, served with a smile. We look after everyone; we offer scampi, pies, salads, homemade soup, specialty coffee, tea, winter specials and a children’s menu. The restaurant is fully licensed and is open daily, Sunday-Wednesday 10:30am-6:30pm and Thursday-Saturday 10:30am-9:30pm. Come along for a pot of tea and a scrumptious cake in the morning, delicious fish and chips for lunch or dinner, or a glass of wine in the evening.

Our Chef Manager has plenty of innovative and exciting ideas for our menu, giving it a seafood slant - look out for smoked salmon, mussel pots and grilled queen scallops! You can enjoy fish and chips in our restaurant, which has 80 seats and can accommodate for families, couples and parties, or you can take away, whilst wandering around the historic town. Our restaurant isn’t your usual fish and chip shop; it is a pleasurable, comfortable, warm and inspiring place to spend some time with family and friends, whilst enjoying quality Yorkshire food. We pride ourselves on excellent food, outstanding and friendly service and value for money. You can take away fish, chips and mushy peas for just £3.95 or you can enjoy the luxury of a coffee or tea and a homemade cake for only £2.95. Our staff are experienced and personable wanting to provide the best experience and food for you, your family and your friends. Our restaurant has full disabled access and we accept all major credit cards.
