Sutton Bank can boast of arguably one of the finest countryside views in the whole of the UK. This walk starts and finishes at the visitor centre and also takes in the iconic White House of Kilburn.

The walk starts from Commondale, a small village sitting in a bowl among the encircling moors of the northern fringe of the national park. You can spot the many crosses dotted around the landscape that were used to aid travellers crossing the North York Moors in times past.

Osmotherley

Osmotherley is an attractive moors village sitting snugly below the western flank of the Cleveland Hills and is an ideal place to start a bracing walk. You can take a short diversion and visit Mount Grace Priory, a former Carthusian Monastery now in the care of the National Trust. The nearby Cleveland Tontine is a good place to stay or stop off for a post walk meal.

Hutton-le-Hole

This lovely Ryedale walk sets off from the Ryedale Folk Museum and takes in the charming valley of the River Dove and follows field paths, forest roads and quiet lanes before calling in on another charming community at Gillamoor before making its way back to the start.
