We are all foodies in Yorkshire, and it's no surprise our diverse variety of food festivals are some of the most well attended in the country. Here are some of the best taking place in 2020.

THE YORKSHIRE PUDDING FESTIVAL 

Leeds Kirkgate Market hosts the UK's first ever Yorkshire Pudding Festival. Vendors will show off their own takes on the humble pud.

FOOD, DRINK & RHUBARB FESTIVAL 

Known for its foodie-themed fun and entertainment for all to enjoy, the Food, Drink & Rhubarb Festival in Wakefield City Centre celebrates Wakefield's traditional ties to rhubarb growing. Enjoy plenty of rhubarb-inspired products great produce.

March 6-7 

INDIE BEER FEAST

Sheffield's Craft Beer Festival takes place at the Abbeydale Picture House and showcases some of the best brewery bars, street food, coffee, gin, natural wine and a whole lot of fun from the local area.

YORK CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL

York is the city of chocolate and this three day festival is sure to delight the sweet-toothed among you.

THE MALTON GIN FESTIVAL 

Considering Malton is a very small town with a huge reputation as a centre for food, drink and artisanal talent, it's no surprise that they host an incredibly successful Gin Festival. Malton Gin Festival is run in association with McMillans of Malton, Malton's specialist gin shop, and hosted at The Talbot. Meet local producers and suppliers, and sample some of the best gin in the county.

May 22-25

SHEFFIELD FOOD FESTIVAL

The city's largest free to attend event takes place for its tenth year from 22nd - 25th May 2020 in the city centre, spreading across the Peace Gardens, Winter Gardens, Millennium Square, Town Hall Square and Fargate, attracting over 50,000+ visitors across the weekend.

MALTON FOOD LOVERS FESTIVAL 

You'll find this festival set across the streets of Yorkshire's so-called food capital. With plenty of artisan stalls, delicious street food, talks, tastings, celebrity chefs, demos, as well as live music.

GREAT BRITISH FOOD FESTIVAL - HAREWOOD HOUSE

There will be a big serving of stunning hot food, plus real ale and wine bars, kids cookery lessons, top chef demos, stir in a cake competition and excellent live music to make a lovely foodie family day out at Harewood House, near Leeds.

GREAT YORKSHIRE VEGAN FESTIVAL 

Taking place at Leeds Town Hall, there will be more than 100 stalls offering a wide variety of vegan produce, including cakes and chocolate, make-up, clothing, pet treats and cheese. In addition, there will be informative talks, live music and yoga sessions.

THE GREAT YORKSHIRE SHOW

Perhaps one of the most important dates in many Yorkshire person's calendar. As one of the leading county shows in the country, the 2020 date will be just as important and will continue to celebrate everything Yorkshire, rural and farming.

SEAFEST

This festival in Scarborough sets up a showground of all things maritime and creates a setting of fun for all the family. Plenty of food stalls, expert seafood cookery demonstrations, as well as lots of food and drink to celebrate.

July 18-19

YORKSHIRE DALES FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL 

Celebrating its fifth birthday this year, this weekend at Funkirk Farm in Skipton is set to be one of the best yet. They have live celebrity demos by Ainsley Harriott and James Martin. There is also live music, workshops and masterclasses, a vintage funfair, crafting demonstrations.

HUDDERSFIELD FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL

It's estimated the event now attracts over 100,000 visitors to St Georges Square over the four day weekend in early August.

Launched in 2000, the event celebrates Huddersfield businesses & local producers, with over 90 stalls, more than 30 cookery demonstrations and a jam-packed programme of children's workshops and entertainment.

WORLD JAM FESTIVAL

Helmsley is home to this inaugural sweet treat of a festival - spreading the jam joy! Judges will include Frances Atkins and Andrew Pern. Jam makers can get creative with competition categories such as Tipsy for preserves that include a hint of alcohol; and a special Under 20s category.

September 12

MALTON HARVEST FOOD FESTIVAL

Malton Harvest Food Festival is a celebration of Yorkshire's finest produce and cooking with an emphasis on late summer and autumn produce. Expect a harvest of game, seafood, wild and foraged food, soft fruit, baking galore, vegetarian and vegan food and the very best street food!Set across Malton's Market Place you can expect a top weekend of chef demos, 80+ stalls, live music, talks, tastings and much more.

YORK FOOD FESTIVAL

The York Food Festival takes over the city centre for around 10 days every September.

The taste trail, which runs in conjunction with festival, alowws you to visit many of York's independent food retailers and joy free taster and discounts.

HOLMFIRTH FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL

Launched in 2005, the Holmfirth Food and Drink Festival attracts more than 40,000 visitors to the town. In all, 50 stalls are packed in throughout the town to bring residents and visitors alike a culinary mix that keeps bringing people back year after year.

WHARFEDALE BEER FESTIVAL
