You are invited to join us at a special birthday event with celebrated chef Raymond Blanc at Brasserie Blanc in Leeds

He may not be a Yorkshireman but the people of the county have taken the celebrated French chef Raymond Blanc to their hearts. The last lunch he hosted with us was an immediate sell-out and we are excited to invite you to join us again for another special occasion.

Brasserie Blanc in Leeds celebrates its fifth birthday and a three-course lunch is being held to mark the restaurants continuing success on Thursday, September 13th. This exclusive event has limited places and is a rare opportunity to spend time with one of the UKs most popular chefs in the relaxed setting of his own restaurant.

To be back up in Yorkshire once again for a Yorkshire Life lunch magnifique! said Raymond. I am so looking forward to celebrating Brasserie Blancs fifth birthday in Leeds with the wonderful people of Yorkshire who have supported me over the years.

Yorkshire is rich in fantastic local food producers - in a lot of ways it reminds me of France, good people eating good food, enjoying themselves.

Raymond Blanc is self-taught and yet he is one of the countrys most respected chefs. He was born in Besancon, the capital of the Franche Comt region in eastern France, between Burgundy and the Jura mountains.

Raymond was inspired by the local terroir and most of all by his mother, the formidable Maman Blanc.

He opened his first restaurant in 1977 and the internationally famous Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons in 1984 which has achieved two Michelin stars over19 years.

This is how he describes his Brasseries: If Le Manoir is a delicate waltz, then the Brasseries are the can-can and he is very much involved in the Brasserie Blanc offering. The menu is his creation, with many of the dishes inspired by Maman Blanc. But it is Yorkshire-born Clive Fretwell, the groups executive chef and former head chef at Blancs Le Manoir Aux QuatSaisons, who oversees the kitchens on a daily basis.
