MasterChef 2012 finalist and Yorkshire food champion, Tom Rennolds, is our special guest at the Yorkshire Life Food & Drink Awards in Harrogate this year. The 26-year-old former plasterer from Silsden, West Yorkshire, is using his new found celebrity to beat the drum on behalf of Yorkshire food in association with Welcome to Yorkshire, the regions tourism authority.

He said: Im looking forward to the Yorkshire Life Food & Drink Awards in September which gives me the chance to meet some of Yorkshires best in the food and hospitality industry and to add my support to the awards which does so much to champion Yorkshire food.

At the moment he and friend Jonny Ross, an events organiser from Addingham, West Yorkshire, have taken to the road in a borrowed VW camper van, accompanied by a film crew so everyone can follow their Best of Yorkshire Tasting Tour on YouTube.

They called in at award-winning Keelham Farm Shop, in West Yorkshire as part of their quest to track down the countys finest food and drink products. Keelham organised a best-of -Yorkshire food table, featuring treats from some of the shops Yorkshire producers and farmers. Keelham said that its home-made fudge in particular went down well with Tom and the crew.

The tour ends with the Best of Food Festival at Kings Hall, Ilkley, a showcase for food and drink producers, between July 27th and 29th.
