If you’re all ready to eat some barbeque food this summer, but don’t want the hassle of organising your own, there are plenty of American style eateries in the region you could try

The taste of true Southern grit waits at the Smoke Barbeque. Focusing on fine meat cuts, sticky glazes and traditional barbeque, it’s definitely for the meat lovers. For the barve (or the foolhardy) there’s a Man Vs Food challenge that involves a burger 4 beef patties, smoked brisket, pulled pork, cheese and onion strings, with sides and 2 pints of ice cream milkshake that must be eaten in 30 minutes!

Biltmore Bar and Grill, York
The Biltmore has a selection of burgers on their Garden Grill menu, all made with ground Yorkshire beef. Along with the classic style burger there are some fusion themed burgers such and maple and bacon and a Japanese style Kimchi burger

The Moody Cow, Apperley Bridge
The Moody Cow offers a decent selection of American barbeque favourites with dishes such as Baby Back Pork Ribs, Buttermilk Chicken and Mac and Cheese, the twist is that local Yorkshire ingredients are used as much as possible. The eye-watering Monster Burger is topped with pulled pork, sliced chorizo, bacon, pineapple, melted jack, onion rings and chipotle sauce.

The Picture House, Hudderfield
The Picture House smoked their pulled pork, ribs and beef in two giant smokers imported from Louisiana, to bring a smokehouse restaurant experience to West Yorkshire. The starter is as extensive as the rest of the mains menu with dishes such as burnt ends, crispy chicken skins, bacon wrapped and jalapenos and a savoury ‘Groundhog’ sundae.

Manahatta, Leeds
New York inspired restaurant and bar has a host of deli sandwiches and burgers to continue the Manhattan theme of the decor and drinks menu. For every Prince’s Trust burger that is sold a small donation is made to the charity of the same name.
