Owned and managed by local brewery, WharfeBank Brewery based in Pool-in-Wharfedale, Simon, who was previously at The Box Tree, Ilkley and Anthonys in Leeds, created a stunning menu that encapsulated all thats local and seasonal, ensuring that his mantra fine pub food holds true.

Guests included Rena and Simon Gueller of The Box Tree, who were delighted to support Simon, Mike Schafer Chief Executive of Harewood House, for whom WharfeBank produce their acclaimed bottled beer Harewood Gold and other friends and supporters from the local and wider community.

Martin Kellaway, WharfeBank Brewery Managing Director and owner of The Fleece whose love of good food is second only to his love of fine craft beer, said: We started the brewery two years ago with the provision that quality is key in all we do. The Fleece in Otley gives us the opportunity to showcase our beers in a fine pub dining environment. We are delighted that Simon has joined us and that he too wants to provide excellent food within a relaxed pub atmosphere. He understands our desire to produce unique and high calibre beers, draft as well as bottled, combined with a food offer to match. Together well ensure the atmosphere remains just as welcoming as every beer drinker would want!

Head Chef Simon Miller commented, Im so pleased my menu was warmly received tonight, and its been a privilege to welcome old friends and new to The Fleece. Im looking forward to the challenge of ensuring The Fleece remains at the top of its game and that all we do here lives up to the standards that the WharfeBank Brewery expects.
