Vote for the best family dining venue in Yorkshire
PUBLISHED: 00:00 19 July 2019
You voted in your numbers and it's now time for you to have the final say - voting for the Yorkshire Life Family Dining 2019 is officially open.
For the past few months the team at Yorkshire Life towers have been devouring, deliberating and debating.
But we have been tasked to the hard job of deciding who should be the dining stars to make it through to the Yorkshire Life Food and Drink Awards. You did the hard hob for us and you galvanised that inimitable Yorkshire spirit and voted in your droves for your favourite dining destinations. It's given us plenty to think about and we need your help one more time.
The Yorkshire Life Family Dining of the Year Awards gives recognition to the wonderful cafes, pubs and restaurants that give everyone from granny to the great grandchildren a fantastic experience - it's no small feat.
We've narrowed down the votes to the top three contenders and now it's time for you to choose a winner.
The Saddle Room, Coverdale
In the far east of the Yorkshire Dales, The Saddle Room is as dedicated to serving all members of the family as it is to using super local producers - most are within a ten mile radius. Sunday dinner is a favourite where you can enjoy tender beef from Yorkshire hospitality favourites R & J - their bacon and sausages are sourced there too. If you opt for pork and lamb, that comes from only a mile away.
There are plenty of options for the kids. But everyone will enjoy the ice cream - it's made by Jervaulx-based ice cream parlour Brymor and is made with milk from their Jersey herd. For those really special occasions, they also have a number of smaller private dining spaces in their wine cellar, snug and hayloft.

No 88 Walmgate, Hotel Indigo, York
In the heart of York city, there is no better place to get the family together. Located in Hotel Indigo, this splendid restaurant serves up food to whet anyone's appetite. Delicate fine dining this is not. Here you'll find Cajun chicken and Harrogate blue burgers and the popular Walmgate fish and chips.
Local suppliers, including hard-to-resist breads from Haxby Bakehouse, would test even the firmest resolves - the same goes for the charcuterie board. But the test really comes after a browse of the dessert menu - think apple crumble, chocolate brownie and honeycomb cheesecakes.

Prima Pizzeria, Ripon
Owner Franco Fantoni has been welcoming people to his popular Ripon restaurant for more than 30 years. Making regular pilgrimages to Italy to meet with suppliers of authentic ingredients, the family-focussed restaurant, near Ripon Cathedral, has already attracted a number of accolades. You'll find many Italian classics on the packed menu - think antipasti, glorious fish dishes, pasta, salads and their well-loved pizzas.
A cosy interior and welcoming staff makes for a great atmosphere as do the large selection of traditional Italian desserts and award-winning ice creams.
