Annie Stirk, our food and drink consultant, announces the Yorkshire Life Food & Drink Awards 2013 shortlist

As chair of the Yorkshire Life Food and Drink judging team, I am delighted to bring you our very exciting shortlist, which represents the diverse range of hospitality businesses across Yorkshire. The judges have had a very busy few months eating and drinking their way around the county to bring you this eclectic selection of destinations. What has been particularly encouraging is to have found a number of new businesses who have shown that it is possible to buck the recession trend to launch a new concept, which pulls in the crowds.

The judges have found that consistency is absolutely key to running a successful hospitality business and testament to this are the longer established businesses on the shortlist, which are still flying high after many years at the top of their game.

The team and I are very excited about the awards event on October 7th and are really looking forward to celebrating the fantastic achievements of all our shortlistees.
