Of the many Yorkshire Life lunches held over the years this must count as one of the most informal and relaxed.

Guests arriving at Vivido, a new Mediterranean style restaurant in Harrogate, were immediately put at their ease as they were greeted with champagne as well as the warmest of welcomes from staff who led the way to the light and airy conservatory. A wide range of canaps was served before guests were invited to sit down to a simple three course meal with generous helpings of Mediterranean style grilled vegetables.

It quickly became clear that people were enjoying themselves as the buzz of conversation grew and laughter sounded throughout the conservatory.

Ardi Garapetian, consultant to Vivido, said the restaurant, with its sleek contemporary dcor, opened towards the end of last year and was already winning awards. Their aim, he said, was to offer the friendliest and warmest welcome and serve good, simply prepared food. Vivido is, he said, a haven for lovers of fish and meat as well as fresh pasta and wholesome soups.

Every aspect of the menu has been developed to complement the Mediterranean style of dining. Well loved dishes from grilled tuna to pan fried sea bass as well as king prawns with garlic are served with a modern twist. Even popping in for just pizza and a glass of wine should be an enjoyable experience, added Ardi. And because Vivido is in the centre of Harrogate it is handy for conference delegates looking for somewhere to eat in relaxed surroundings as well as an ideal choice for theatre and concert goers.

The menu for the Yorkshire Life Lunch reflected the skilful talent in the kitchen and the dishes were served swiftly but also with care and consideration ensuring guests had everything they needed.

Annie Stirk, Yorkshire Life food and wine consultant, congratulated the kitchen brigade led by Frank Laazizi on a fantastic meal. She added: 'The menu was fun and a refreshing change which clearly everyone enjoyed.' Helen Cooling,Wine and Spirit Development Manager in the North for Coors Brewery, selected the wine for each course.
