Win £1,000 worth of mature plants and a £900 John Deere lawn mower

Yorkshire Life together with Wykeham Mature Plants, Pickering and Bob Wild Grass Machinery, Halifax, are looking for Yorkshire's 2008 Garden of the Year. Some of the country's most beautiful gardens are tended in Yorkshire. We know because we often feature them. Now we are looking for a garden worthy of the title Garden of the Year. We hope our new competition will become a regular feature in Yorkshire's horticultural calendar and we couldn't hope for a more experienced team than Wykeham and Bob Wild to sponsor the event. They will not only help us with the judging but also present the winner with a stunning 1,000 worth of trees, shrubs, hedging and other mature plants and a 900 John Deere lawn mower.

To enter the competition you need to send a recent photograph of your garden and tell us in no more than 100 words what makes it so special. Alternatively, you can email your entry and picture along with contact details to jane.ramsay@archant.co.uk The competition is open to all amateur gardeners in the county regardless of the size of the plot. Imagination and flair are more important than size. The winning garden and gardener will feature in a future picture spread in Yorkshire Life.

Send your entries to Jane Ramsay at Yorkshire Life, 1200 Century Way, Thorpe Park, Leeds, LS15 8ZA or email jane.ramsay@archant.co.uk. We need at least one non returnable photograph of your garden.

The competition closes on June 30th, 2008. Normal competition rules apply. The editor's decision is final. It is a condition of the competition that you allow your garden to be featured in Yorkshire Life.
