Graeme MacLeod, regional director of Bridgfords, looks back on the company's first year in the Yorkshire property market
Trading from 12 offices spanning the region from Whitby to Bingley, we have bucked a market widely reported as challenging to deliver exceptional results, thanks to the dogged determination and ability of our sales and lettings staff.
Such has been our success, we have opened three further branches in York, Halifax and Wakefield and are finding this commitment to the county has helped us gain the confidence of sellers and buyers alike at a time when many are scaling back their coverage or closing offices.
This year also marks another landmark anniversary for us. Established in 1832, we have been selling and letting houses for 180 years, growing from a single office to a network of 90 branches.
Next year, we are launching Bridgfords Prestige, a bespoke service designed for sellers and buyers of high value homes. We trade successfully in some of the most affluent towns and cities in the region, including Harrogate, York and, slightly further afield, Yarm and Wilmslow.
Our extensive network in key affluent markets means we have access to buyers with the biggest budgets and, using the Prestige brand, will also work closely with our London Countrywide offices, allowing us to introduce purchasers from the south and abroad.
Locally, our Prestige brand will be run out of our Harrogate office from January next year.
So, all in all its been a successful start and, with more openings planned for 2013, were looking forward to another successful year.
