Top score for luxury homes
Scunthorpe United defender Scott Laird, 27 and his wife, beauty therapist Leanne, also 27, are among the first residents to buy a slice of luxury by the lake at The Residence scheme in Doncaster. The young couple have purchased one of Muse Developments’ desirable Harvard townhouses, which offer a prime location on the banks of more than 50 acres of stunning waterside.
Scott, who transferred to Scunthorpe United from Preston North End last year, and Leanne were immediately taken by the stylish three-storey Harvard show home, and handpicked their plot when there was just one of three floors built. The contemporary design of the townhouse as well as the stunning views and direct access to the lake impressed the couple, who fell in love with their new home on the spot.
The pair, who are originally from Bridgewater in Somerset, are now making the most of their new life by the lake. Scott says: ‘It’s been brilliant. We love the bright and airy rooms; the ceilings are high and there are really big windows so the light just pours in, glimmering off the lake. We spend a lot of our time at home pottering in the large kitchen/diner; we love the floor-to-ceiling windows and the view across the water is fantastic. Now that the warmer evenings are here we can sit outside either in the garden or on our first floor balcony.’
There are just nine remaining Harvard homes available to buy, from just £279,950, each making the most of the sought-after lakeside location with tranquil, waterside views from every floor. Each home offers a waterside garden with individual access to the lake beyond, as well as a first floor balcony overlooking the lake. The Harvard also features three double bedrooms with two en suites; bathroom; a spacious, light and airy kitchen/diner; a study or work space; separate utility room and garage.
Scott adds: ‘The location of The Residence is brilliant for us, there’s so much all within easy walking distance including shops, restaurants and the cinema.’
With ample greenery and lakeside cycling/walking routes close by, The Harvard is ideal for young professionals who enjoy the outdoors, whilst benefitting from a range of local amenities including Lakeside Village and Doncaster Dome, on their doorstep.
Hollie Reynolds, residential sales and marketing manager at Muse adds: ‘We’re delighted to welcome Scott and Leanne to The Residence. Now that we’ve sold more than 30 homes here, there’s a lovely community feel and our residents love that they can enjoy the beautiful lakeside scenery for a run, cycle or walk, within seconds of leaving their front door. We have a limited number of Harvard homes on the edge of the lake available and once they’re gone, they’re gone, so we’d urge interested buyers to act fast.’
There are also a number of four-bedroom homes currently available at The Residence starting from £229,950. The government-backed equity loan scheme Help to Buy is available which allows buyers to purchase with just 5 per cent deposit. Terms and conditions apply. w
