Linda Dawn Wardell and Richard Alexander McCulloch, from Malton, were married at The Downe Arms, Wykeham, North Yorkshire. During a gap year travelling around the world Richard proposed to Linda as the sun rose over Machu Picchu. 

They had just completed the four day Inca trek and celebrated the engagement with friends in Cuzco
