A gala dinner to mark 100 days until the start in Yorkshire of the Tour de France was held at Ripon Cathedral. Among the guests were cycling legends Brian Robinson and Bernard Hinault as well as leading young cyclist Scott Thwaites. A team from the race organisers the ASO, Amaury Sport Organisation, also attended along with the president of British Cycling Bob Howden.

An agreement between Welcome to Yorkshire, British Cycling and ASO has been signed to deliver a new international cycle race around Yorkshire beginning next year as part of the legacy of the Tour de France which sets off in Leeds on July 5th.
