Guests gathered to celebrate the reopening of York Art Gallery after an £8 million development to create new gallery spaces and to launch the Centre of Ceramic Art, home to the largest collection of British Studio Ceramics in the country.

The development of the 19th century grade two listed building by international architects Ushida Findlay, in partnership with leading conservation specialists Simpson & Brown, puts the gallery’s extensive collection of Old Masters on display alongside significant contemporary art and major new commissions.
