Photographer Paul Anthony Wilson helps us celebrate the Yorkshire coast with these dramatic pictures
Paul Anthony Wilson was born in Hull but he and his parents moved to Filey when he was just four years old. He went to Filey County Secondary School and today he lives in Scarborough, so home has always been the East Coast.
He is a self-taught photographer, as many are, carried along by his passion for creating fine art images of the East Coast. Inspiration, he says, often arrives unexpectedly so it is rare to see him without a camera.
Paul became a professional photographer in 1992 working as a freelance in Scarborough and North Yorkshire for local newspapers, light industry, tourism and public relations. He began working with Victorian Image, a well known period costume studio in Whitby, which he now owns with his partner Lynne.
The couple have travelled extensively together over 30 years but whenever they return to Scarborough the first thing they do is walk along the Esplanade or visit Cayton Bay to appreciate how lucky we are living on such a beautiful coastline.
