Guests and supporters of the Wakefield Cathedral Project raised more than 6,000 during a lunch hosted by celebrity chef James Martin at his Leeds Kitchen restaurant.

The project is a multi-million pound scheme to place the cathedral firmly back at the heart of the community in time for the citys milestone 125th anniversary this year. When complete, there will be a concert venue, exhibition space, debating chamber and social hub to rival major commercial venues.
