We endeavour to be exceptional which pins us front and centre as one of the top Wedding venues in North Yorkshire.

Located in exquisite parkland Goldsborough is the perfect setting for those looking for special, all inclusive packages as well as bespoke affairs for weddings of up to 160 guests.

What makes the hotel stand out from the crowd?

All our areas are flexible and you can tailor your day according to your own aesthetic and personal wishes. We’re a canvas allowing you to paint your own picture-perfect day and we love being a part of people’s love stories. Champagne on the terrace in summer or brandy in the library in winter, a blessing in our private dining rooms or a marquee for a large crowd – we are lucky enough to offer real choice. Whether a wedding is a civil ceremony or a religious service in the neighbouring church our experienced wedding co-ordinator can curate every detail to minimise any pre-wedding stress. We offer class, opulence, privacy and dedication.

Couples take advantage of our award-winning two AA Rosette chef and incorporate their favourite foods into their big day menu. For guests there is also nothing better for the ‘morning after’ than a freshly prepared, cooked-to-order big breakfast. Exclusive use of the house and grounds makes your day more intimate. Goldsborough Hall is close to Knaresborough and Harrogate yet beautifully secluded.

Tell us about your team?

We’re lucky to have a committed and enthusiastic team of people always ready to go that extra mile. Adam our head chef exudes passion and keeps our menus in line with seasonality, harvesting produce from our own kitchen garden. Hazel (head housekeeper) perfects the table cloths and presents all our bedrooms beautifully; Melanie our operations manager ensures your favourite wines are chilled to perfection.

Carter our long serving estate manager always has a list of jobs that never ends. All is captained under the watchful eye of our general manager James McDonnell.

Tell us an interesting fact about Goldsborough Hall?

In February 1922 HRH Princess Mary (the Queen’s aunt) married Viscount Henry Lascelles (later the 6th Earl of Harewood) and made Goldsborough Hall their first family home and country residence. The couple lived at Goldsborough before their move to Harewood House in the 1930s following the death of the 5th Earl of Harewood.

Princess Mary and her husband honeymooned from February 1922 to December 1922 before moving into the newly refurbished Goldsborough Hall in time for Christmas. The garden still grows the copse of Japanese cherry trees which were a wedding gift from the Emperor of Japan.

What does the future hold for Goldsborough Hall?

The recent completion of four additional luxury garden view rooms has been one of this year’s challenges alongside the creation of our 1,300sqft glasshouse to support our self-sufficiency ambitions and organic kitchen garden. We are making further moves toward environmentally friendly initiatives and will keep the regality of Goldsborough alive. We hope the Princess Mary would have been proud!
