A spring ball organised by the Parents and Friends Association at the Grammar School, Leeds, helped to raise money for extra school equipment. In 2010 and 2011 the PFA donated more than 30,000 to various projects to benefit pupils from aged three up to the young adults in the upper sixth form.

The staff and parents aim to lead by example and actively encourage pupils to give to charity. Recent fund raising events have benefited Help the Heroes and Sport Relief. In addition, each form has a weekly collection for specific charities.

The Grammar School at Leeds began raising money in 1990 to buy educational facilities, medicines and care for children in Malawi and the fund has recently reached 250,000.
