At least 600 guests attended the National Railway Museum Annual Dinner in the museum's Great Hall, York, held in the run-up to Railfest 2012, one of the biggest rail celebrations in the country.

At least 600 guests attended the National Railway Museum Annual Dinner in the museums Great Hall, York, held in the run-up to Railfest 2012, one of the biggest rail celebrations in the country.

During the dinner the museums director Steve Davies, gave details of a new 250,000 gallery which will showcase, discuss, debate and inform todays rail industry.

The proposed gallery will allow the industry to promote what it is doing and its exciting plans for the future, said Mr Davies. The modern industry has a story to tell, he added.
