Scrub, a life-size masterpiece by George Stubbs and owned by Lord Halifax, was unveiled alongside its sister painting Whistlejacket for the first time in 250 years. The paintings are now exhibited at Leeds City Art Gallery after Scrub underwent a 100,000 restoration by Viola Pemberton-Pigott. Leeds property developer Kevin Linfoot contributed most of the restoration costs. Whistlejacket & Scrub: Large as Life runs until November 9th in The White Gallery and is free.
