More than 200 guests at the Tulip Ball held at the Crown Hotel, Harrogate, raised over 10,000 for the Gemma Rooley Tribute Fund supported by Winstons Wish, a child bereavement charity. Gemma lost her life a year ago to cancer at the age of 28. She left behind two young daughters.

Gemmas sister, Abigail Kent, said: Since Gemma died I have found the work of this charity inspirational. One child in every 30 will suffer the loss of a parent, carer or sibling thats one child in every classroom.
