More than 1,000 people gathered in Harrogate to watch 90 finalists battle it out for 16 prestigious titles at the White Rose Awards.

The winners of this years Welcome to Yorkshire tourism awards, hosted by BBC Look North presenter Christa Ackroyd at Yorkshire Event Centre, included RHS Harlow Carr, The Leopold Hotel in Sheffield, The Feversham Arms in Helmsley, The Deep in Hull and The Met in Leeds.

Yorkshires tourism industry has had an exceptional couple of years and the White Rose Awards are an excellent example of why, said Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire. The industry, which is worth 6.5 billion to our local economy, is a serious business. When you see the hard work that our partners put into making the visitor experience exceptional, you recognise this is a sector that is well worth investing in.
