With autumn upon us, you may be able to spot these majestic creatures when out and about in Yorkshire.

Studley Royal and Fountains Abbey

Red deer rut peaks in November. Also sika and fallow deer in residence.

Eastern Moors, Peak District

Try an early morning visit and look out across the woodland clearings.

Spurn Point

One of the most unusual locations for deer-spotting, the coastal dunes here hold roe deer (given away by a white rump), often spotted from Yorkshire Wildlife Trust 4x4 trips.

Castle Howard

There is a deer park within the grounds of the estate, you may be lucky enough to spot one if you take a walk in the surrounding area.

Strid Wood

Located next to Bolton Abbey in the Yorkshire Dales, Strid Wood is home to a small population of roe deer.
