People go to all sorts of extraordinary lengths to take a picture. Theres one chap from not too far away who camps out in remote rural spots to photograph sunrises and another who uses a huge antique camera for his landscape images.
Both approaches seem to work their pictures are very good but its not necessary to go to such extremes to take superb photos, as the examples on these pages prove.
They were all taken by Yorkshire Life readers out and about around the county and they are just some of the brilliant shots to be uploaded to our website yorkshire.greatbritishlife.co.uk.
We are trying to create a lasting photographic record of life in Yorkshire in this landmark year. And long after the Olympic stadium has been repurposed and the jubilee cake has been eaten, the gallery of our readers pictures will be a reminder of the way we lived in 2012.
Scores of brilliant photographs have been uploaded to our website showing the people and places, flora and fauna, scenery and seaside that makes this such a special county.
And wed love if you were inspired to pick up your camera the next time you are out about around our great county.
