Add your photographs to the county's best picture gallery

There was a time, though those under 30 may not recall it, when taking a picture was a big thing. Youd get the family together with an attractive backdrop, make sure everyone was smiling, and click the button. Once youd done that 24 or 36 times, youd send the film off and wait for a bulging envelope of your photos to be returned. And then youd find youd left the lens cap on, or had your thumb in the way.

These days, of course, its all so much easier the cameras in most mobile phones are far more advanced than even the digital cameras of a few years ago so taking a picture is no longer reserved for special occasions, but for any occasion. And you can delete the ones youre not happy with.

The advent of social network sites and photo sharing websites mean talented amateurs can now show their work to the widest possible audience not just your nearest and dearest having a look at your prints.
And thats just what scores of Yorkshire Life readers do every month.

Wherever they go around the county they capture the scenery and upload their shots to our website which has become one of the countys most popular and comprehensive photo galleries.

The results are stunning, as the examples on the pages show, and wed
love to see your pictures too. But not the ones of your thumb.
